Ground has been broken for the new Athletic and Recreation Facility.
Here’s a statement from the Green Building Advisory Committee that’s guiding Intep’s services in support of this project:
“Macalester College’s new Athletics, Recreation and Wellness Center will be a building that promotes the health and wellness of the college’s students, faculty, staff as well as the environment. The building will have a variety of roles including being a space for all levels of athletic events and practices, an exercise facility for the college community and a space for relaxation and recreation. Sustainable design will reduce this building’s effect on the environment and will reduce the operations costs for the lifetime of the building. The center will be a functional building as well as a source of pride for the Macalester campus”.
We’ve helped Macalester transfer this vision into a set of measurable goals that can be effectively implemented. As with all projects navigating through the complexity of expectation in functional, financial and qualitative values, team abilities and dynamic is always an interesting process to witness and participate. The more we collectively push the boundaries of traditional construction practices, the more we all have to challenge our personal traditions!
Intep’s proud to support Macalester. We applaud their leadership in taking on the importance of enhanced user-health at the local level and the green-house gas issue at the global level. Thank you!
